The Bearded Ladies wish to thank everyone who gave so generously on the night and if you wish to contribute towards Teifion’s marathon or claim a prize from the raffle, email the band mail@thebeardedladies.com and we’ll put you in contact with him.
For more information on VICTA visit their website here.
Anyone interested in visual impairment may also be interested in seeing some more images from the gig here.
Finally, the band wish to thank Teifion’s parents for their usual fantastic hospitality and cups of tea.
Long time friend and loyal supporter of The Bearded Ladies, Teifion Woodward (Taff) has completed the London Marathon in aid of VICTA (Visually Impaired Children Taking Action). His time is currently unknown.
Not famously known for their sporting prowess, The Bearded Ladies decided not to join him on his jog but preferred the slightly more familiar ground of the performing arena. Put simply, the band agreed to play at a charity gig organised by Teifion.
The boys were joined by three other bands on the night and the gig was thoroughly enjoyed by all the groups and hopefully as much by the mercifully appreciative audience.
The venue was The Mount Pleasant Inn in Abertillery, Wales who gave everyone a very warm reception and really helped the night go with a swing.
First up were the mighty Lee’s Amigos. The threesome comprised of acoustic guitar, banjo, bass and some wonderfully strong and original songs that deserve a far wider audience.
Next up were thoroughly hygienic Dirty Valley Dudes. Another great band who blew everyone away with their superb covers of some rare classics and no-holds-barred stage presence.
Never a band to shy away from social responsibility and a charitable cause, The Legendary Too Drunk showed Wales how they do it in Acton. And Ealing.
Finally pulling up the rear, The Bearded Ladies finished off the night and the buffet with their usual enthusiasm. The boys also decided to reinstate a classic from the Velvet Underground into an increasingly familiar set.
A big thanks to The Dirty Valley Dudes for supplying all the gear.
